Pote’s owners claimed he was sick and wouldn’t eat, and that he needed to be put to sleep as a result.

Despite his owners' claims that he wouldn’t eat, he devoured every morsel of food given to him by rescuers, as if he had been starved for so long.

He was taken to a veterinary hospital in Cape Town, where he was examined and eventually given proper medical treatment.

He had mange and had lost a lot of hair as a result of it. NexGard was used to treat parasites, and his hair began to regrow gradually.

He also began to gain weight and appeared to be a completely different dog.

He found a loving forever home with a woman who has a soft spot for senior animals thanks to Sidewalk Specials. Pote is now living the life of luxury, spoiled by his new mother.

He also has other adopted senior dog siblings, as well as a new kitty sibling, with whom he enjoys playing.

Pote was once frail, flimsy, and on the verge of dying. He’s now healthy, happy, and running around in his new big backyard like the wind!
