Rescue A Dog Left With Hundreds Of Quills Stuck In Its Face After Fighting With A Porcupine

On February 20, the dog, named Thor, was discovered impaled with hundreds of quills by its owner in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Hundreds of yellow quills covered the golden brown dog’s mouth, forehead, nose, ears, and legs, according to photos.

Adriano Bertoline, an unemployed man, launched an online appeal for treatment after he was unable to pay a veterinary bill.

Dr. Jose Roberto Apolari, a local councillor, stepped in to help, transporting Thor to a clinic and assisting with the costs.

Thor, who is three years old, is believed to have fought a porcupine for the second time in a year and sustained the painful wounds.

Bertoline launched an online appeal after discovering Thor impaled with porcupine quills and requesting assistance in getting him treated.

‘Good morning, guys…’ he wrote on social media. I awoke this morning to find my dog in this state… Is there any clinic or veterinarian that can come to his aid? ‘I am unable to pay.’

Dr. Jose Roberto Apolari, a councillor, saw the dog owner’s request and agreed to help.

‘Dr Apolari was an angel in my dog’s life because I couldn’t afford to pay for a private veterinarian,’ Adriano wrote on social media. I’m currently unemployed, and I’m responsible for four children at home.’

According to Adriano, the councillor took the dog to the clinic, assisted with the costs, and then returned Thor home.

Thor’s owner claims that this is the dog’s second fight with a porcupine in a year.

Adriano’s friend, who worked at a private veterinary clinic at the time, assisted the injured dog in February 2021.
