Loyal dog passed away after sitting by the window every day for 11 years waiting for its owner to come home

Some people have a habit of confirming their presence in the house to their family when they return home. Even the pets joyfully run to their master and wag their tails because they are happy about his arrival.

Some pet owners have become accustomed to seeing their furry pets waiting for their return home after a long day at work. That’s the case for Roman, who works managing a mid-sized transportation company and as an optometrist in Chicago, USA.

When Roman comes home from work each day, he habitually looks first at the window because his dog Toby is always waiting for him there.

This heartwarming and habitual behavior lasted for a full eleven years.

Recently, however, Roman had to go through a very painful situation. Toby, the dog that had accompanied him for many years, died.

The once cheerful guy, who was waiting for his return, no longer appears at his window.

Although Toby has been gone for several years now, Roman comes home from work every day and still unconsciously looks up at the window. But all is in vain, he will no longer see his beloved dog at his window.

Roman and Toby met 14 years ago when Toby was only two years old and his then girlfriend’s dog.

When they first met, Toby pooped in Roman’s living room, which led Roman to initially think Toby was a brat. The two didn’t get along very well at first.

Smart Toby is a very affectionate dog. He constantly wants Roman’s attention, so he is always naughty and mischievous. This gives Roman a headache and he often argues with Toby about various little things.

Finally, his girlfriend persuaded Roman and said, “Just treat Toby like a human child, don’t always be angry with him.”

As a result, Roman tried to change his behavior towards Toby, but he didn’t expect the puppy to change his behavior as well, as if he understood.

After a few years, Roman and Toby became inseparable, and their relationship surpassed even the relationship between his girlfriend and Toby.

A few years later, Roman separated from his girlfriend, and because he could not live without Toby, he gave the house to his girlfriend.

The years have changed and the people around him come and go, only Toby has always remained by Roman’s side….

In the following years spent with Toby, Roman never felt lonely.

Roman usually works as an optician and spends 8-10 hours at work every day. Gradually, Toby understood the pattern of his work hours.

He would lie by the window and eagerly wait for Roman to come home from work.

As soon as he sees Roman’s car show up, Toby gets very excited, then shakes his head and waits for Roman to go to the door….

Even if Roman left for just a few minutes and then came home, Toby would be as excited as if he hadn’t seen him in many years.

The waiting has gone on day and night, spring, summer, fall and winter, year after year….

Year after year, Toby waits for his master to come home.

In Roman’s heart, Toby is a perfect dog that cannot be replaced. He is gentle and polite and is especially gentle with children.

Unfortunately, Toby had cancer and endured several surgeries, including dilated cardiomyopathy, and was not doing well health-wise. After three major surgeries, he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and kidney failure in October 2018.

By February 2019, Toby’s body had become very weak and he could no longer swallow.

Roman and his friends did not want to see Toby suffer any longer and said goodbye to him. He decided to take Toby to the vet for euthanasia….

Toby has been gone for several years now.

But Roman’s habit of looking at the window could not be avoided. He always felt that Toby was always there and never left.

Toby, with love and happiness, gave Roman the warmest and most perfect companion, so that Roman’s life is full of sunshine and color. Toby is also like any furry baby around us. Even if they occasionally cause trouble, they are always there, a faithful companion.

Little by little they become our most loyal friends and sometimes even part of our family.
