Abandoned Bulldog Forced To Live In The Streets With Severe Mange

March 28, 2022

We are proud to call dogs family members because they are among the most valuable acquaintances we have in life. We all know that dogs deserve a good life, but we frequently hear stories about how many animals are not so fortunate. This was the case with this bulldog puppy, who was surviving by eating leaves. She was afflicted with severe mange and had lost nearly all of her hair.

Slaughterhouse Survivors reacted quickly when they learned about the dog. They could tell the puppy had given up hope and accepted the fate that lay ahead of her. She had been living on the street and would die there as well.

The dog was taken to a medical clinic and given the name Pumpkin by the rescuers. She was depressed, despite the fact that she was only a puppy, and she didn’t seem relieved that she had been rescued. She was clearly traumatized, but would her new caregivers be able to look after her both inside and out?

Pumpkin was diagnosed with severe mange, which left her with severely infected skin after being evaluated. Her body temperature was extremely low, to the point where it didn’t register on the thermometer. Pumpkin was on the verge of passing away. She would not have survived another day on the streets, according to the veterinarian.

Pumpkin was given antibiotics, pain medication, and intravenous fluids. They also gave her warm saline via IV to help her raise her body temperature.

Pumpkin retaliated by raising his temperature. The veterinarian diagnosed her with the flu and assured her that she would recover.

They started removing the scaly, dead skin from Pumpkin’s body after she recovered from the flu. She resembled a baby hippo more than a puppy. She began to feel better at that point, and she began to eat more food. Pumpkin required eye surgery, which was successful.

The dog’s fur began to regrow as a result of her daily medicated baths, which was encouraging. In Los Angeles, a rescue group had also found her a forever family.

Pumpkin is able to frequent the beach now that she lives with her family in California. They gave her a new name and a new start. Kennedy is her new name, and she is always near her mother’s ankles. She also appears to enjoy peanut butter.

Kennedy is ecstatic to be back in her forever home. She enjoys playing ball and even has a canine sibling.

For this dog who had a rough start in life, things are looking up. It’s all thanks to the rescuers who refused to give up.
