Ukrainian woman lives with 55 cats, in her one-bedroom apartment
April 3, 2022A Ukrainian woman who has been rescuing street cats for the last ten years says she prefers them to humans.
Raisa lives with her daughter, granddaughter and 55 cats, in her one-bedroom apartment in Crimea.
The 66-year-old lady had started to build small houses for the felines out on the streets, but neighbours did not like that, and set their dogs to destroy them.

She then decided to rescue all the cats she had been feeding outside and moved them inside her home. Scroll down for video…
Her long-standing devotion for cats has cost her dear. She sold all the gold that she kept from her youth such as earrings, rings, pendants – because it got to a point when she had no money to feed her many cats or buy medicine for them.

“I think that gold is nothing, and money is nothing compared to life. Any living being is precious, and it should be taken well care of,” she said. Scroll down for video…
Raisa said ” I would only adopt them out if I could find true caring cat-lovers.”

Raisa is now fighting for her own life – she has a serious medical condition and has no money to pay for proper medical treatment, however, she refuses to leave her cats behind and cares for them with love and devotion.
