12-week-old dog miraculously recovers after being abandoned in a cage and dumped on the curb like rubbish
April 19, 2022
Less than a week ago, a 12-week-old puppy was dumped on the side of the road in Youngstown, Ohio. Deputy Tara was dispatched by Mahoning County dog rangers to pick him up and take him to Gillard’s veterinarian. At this point, the puppy’s body temperature was only 74 degrees, and it only took four to five breaths per millisecond.
Xavier’s veterinarian didn’t give him much hope. He slept in his own feces for an indeterminate amount of time, had pressure sores and spots on one side, and was probably hungry. Slowly, the platoon was able to raise his body temperature, hydrate him, and give him some little reflexes.
Xavier was still a child. Maybe 12 weeks old? So far his life seems to be the hell I imagined…there is no other way to explain it. Thanks to everyone’s prayers, he has become a small phenomenon.
Two days later Xavier was still attached, and his prognosis sounded good, but the pup’s life took a different and serious turn, as has happened in many mysterious events before. The next day, his life almost ended again.
Miracles are needed! ! ! He’s getting worse! Outside the incubator, he couldn’t control his body temperature. Malnutrition and hypothermia were too much for his small physique. The medical team couldn’t help him.
Also, prayers and blessings seem to work. Although Xavier was still in the woods, his health began to improve as Feather began to serve him. The veterinarian continued to give the patient fluids and antibiotics. Then another update came.
She (the vet) sounds hopeful, like he has a better chance now, which is an advantage, and she encourages Young-joo to keep fighting. Guys, this is a huge burden on our team and the Mahoning County dog ranger team. It’s hard not to be with him now. We know he’s in pretty good hands in Akron. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
