Dog Found With A Rope Embedded Into His Neck From Being Tied Up For So Long
April 18, 2022
On the island of Curacao, a dog was recently discovered wandering the streets in poor condition. He wore a rope around his neck that was completely embedded in the skin.
Volunteers searched for the dog but were unsuccessful until they spotted him from afar a few days later.
“We knew we had to act quickly because he was frail, hesitant, and didn’t stick to one location,” Violeta Draseikait told BoredPanda.
Unfortunately, many of the dogs on the island are tied or tethered without a collar. After weeks of being tied up, this results in embedded wounds.
“Either the owners are unaware of the potential harm or they are unconcerned. Taking the rope off felt like a fresh start for Boef, and we noticed a difference in him after just a few days.”
“He felt so much better with just a little tenderness and love! We knew his life would improve even more when we found him a foster family (who also assisted us in catching him).”
Boef learned to enjoy life, play with other dogs, and live with other dogs. His skin condition has also improved visibly, and he is now a lovely and loving dog. We’ll never know what he’s been through, but that’s okay because he’s living a wonderful life now!
He was able to find a foster home thanks to Paws on Curacao. His skin has significantly improved, and he now has a second chance at a happy life.
