Woman Is Driving When She Sees A Dog Thrown From Overpass, Stops To Help
April 17, 2022
In Portland, Oregon, a woman was driving down a freeway when she witnessed an object being thrown over the overpass. It appeared to be a bag at first, but she soon realized it was a pit bull. She immediately pulled over and dialed her daughter, April Eells.
Mom rushed the dog over to April, who works at a veterinary clinic. The poor dog had broken bones and torn ligaments, necessitating extensive surgery to repair.
The Eells family began fundraising, and they were successful!
The family became so attached to the dog, whom they named Hank, that they decided to adopt him! Hank is also a symbol for April Eells' daughter, who attempted suicide by jumping off an overpass last year but was saved.
April told KPTV, “We can’t just give up on him.” “They’ve both made it.” My own daughter had surgery today, and he had surgery last week, so I just feel like they’re connected for some reason, and he came into our lives for a reason, and my mom just said, “We’re not giving up on him.”
