Even though pets are one of the most wonderful things that can happen to a human being, there are still people who reject that joy and decide to abandon their pets, generally cats and dogs. Fortunately, there are also people around the world who have dedicated their lives to helping these innocent animals who have been left homeless in many animal shelters.

An example of this is what Muncie Animal Care & Services is doing in Indiana. They help people adopt new pets and find forever homes for abandoned animals.

As Muncie’s cat shelter began to get filled with homeless cats and kittens, a surprising ally appeared in the mix. The city’s police department agreed to intervene and help by providing people with a new alternative to their own woes. Rather than paying their parking fines with money, they encouraged citizens to give money or cat food to the Muncie Animal Care & Services shelter.
