Dads and cats are often a match made in heaven, particularly when they put up any initial resistance.
Cats often seem to gravitate to those who profess not to like them, only to win them over. Sometimes, it’s the man of the house who puts up quite a protest to bringing home a cat. Then, time and time again, we see a special bond form between cat and man.
Clearly, cats see right through that hard manly exterior to the soul who only wants love and affection like everybody else. Whether cat or dog or other, a pet’s work is never done until they have melted the toughest of hearts like putty. For animals, love comes freely, unconditionally, and naturally, and it conquers all, even (or especially) Dad.
JJ the Cat Wins Over Grandpa Completely
Below, TikTok** user Hailey** shared a video of her 86-year-old grandpa and his cat named JJ. Hailey mostly posts her rescued cat Hazel and Ivy but says men who love cats “run in the family.”

Dad Melts for Shelter Cat
TikTok user DadAndBoujiEE says he was “bamboozled” when his family adopted a cat named Simone.
“Dad she’s been at the shelter since April,” his wife said as Simone was already in a carrier. It was too late at that point to resist, as Simone kissed her when she asked, “Do you want to go home with me and live forever?”
Resistance was futile, and soon after the adoption, Dad was playing with Simone.
