For certain people their pets are the only thing that keeps them pushing on this world, out there we have countless homeless people that are ready to do everything for their precious dogs since they are the only ones they have near this life to keep them company.

A homeless veteran went through the biggest heartbreak after his dog went missing, but fortunately he found his furry friend and had a sweet warm reunion.

A Vietnam veteran called Michael Hatfield lives on the streets of Kettleman City, California, locals have seen him multiple times alongside Rerun, his trusty emotional support dog, on their usual spot near a gas station.

“Anybody who travels through Kettleman City has seen this man,” Kings County Sheriff’s Deputy John Daulton told KMPH. “He’s the guy who’s on the corner always holding this sign and Rerun is always right next to him.”

The man said he is estranged from his family so this little dog is the only one who gives him support, but when Rerun went missing lately someone apparently took him the old man was left heartbroken.

“He’s my boy. All I got is him. He sleeps with me. I lost him. Somebody took him,” Hatfield said.

“I haven’t been able to sleep, eat, I’m lost. That’s my life, nobody else.”

After he failed to find his friend he asked for help from local police, Deputy Dalton agreed to help him and shared his story on social media so locals got also involved to help find the missing dog.

The post was shared everywhere but still there was no sight of the dog several days after the post, but on Sunday the mystery was sold and a happy ending took place.

The dog wasn’t stolen; a family feared that he was abandoned and took him in, the Kings County Sheriff’s Office reported.

He was in a safe place, got a bath and all that but when the family saw the post they gladly returned the dog to his beloved owner.

Hatfield was so excited and happy to have his precious dog back, when they met again he immediately took the pooch into his arms hugging him.

Aw this story made us so happy we wish them both a happy and healthy life.
